Cryptek
Common Access Card (CAC/PIV) Access to MFPs
Netgard™ MFD is a drop-in, in-line, multi-factor user authentication solution for networked devices such as Kyocera Multifunctional Products (MFPs). The Netgard™ MFD appliance protects a network by requiring users to authenticate themselves with a smartcard and personal identification number (PIN), thereby preventing unauthorized users from accessing privileged materials or tampering with network resources.
Without a card and PIN, the Netgard™ MFD appliance does not permit the user to scan and send from the multi-function device. Netgard™ MFD supports both local user authentication as well as network authentication using LDAP or Active Directory.
Affordable Security Solution for Device Access
For U.S. government agencies, Netgard™ MFD meets Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) by facilitating Common Access Card (CAC) multifactor authentication required by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for access to network-based devices and systems. Many legacy devices, purchased before the adoption of HSPD-12, do not support CAC access.
As a result, many useful legacy devices, such as multi-function printers, scanners and faxes, have been rendered useless. With Netgard™ MFD, Cryptek offers an affordable solution that helps government agencies make the most of their technology investment by bringing these legacy devices into compliance with HSPD-12.
- Extend the operating life of existing printers, copiers, and scanners by enabling CAC/PIV authentication and access
- Meet HSPD-12 and DoD compliance requirements with a cost-effective, plug-and-play solution
- Maintain a consistent secure posture by protecting your network from unauthorized distribution of information
